Young’s Parish Register of Kingston notes that the family monument in the Lower Burial Ground gives the name correctly (Thomas Robison Cartwright) and records the date of his birth as 13 January 1799.  According to the church records, Thomas was baptized on 12 March 1799, was married on 29 January 1821 to Anne Fisher of Adolphustownn and died without having children on 2 June 1826.

Digital Kingston (accessed 2016-03-04) has a reference to John S. Cartwright being the executor of Thomas’s estate – Kingston Chronicle, 14 June 1826, pg 3, col 3.

The Cartwright obelisk records three generations of the Cartwright family, beginning with Richard Cartwright, Sr. and his wife Joanna Beasley: Honourable Richard Cartwright (son of Richard Sr., buried in Montreal), Magdalen Secord (wife of Hon R. Cartwright), and their children, Mary Magdalen Dobbs (wife of A.T. Dobbs), James, Richard*, Hannah, Thomas, Stephen and twins John Solomon and Robert David.

* Richard Cartwright died 4 May 1811 but is not listed in the burial register and is assumed to have been buried elsewhere.
