The Cartwright obelisk records three generations of the Cartwright family, beginning with Richard Cartwright, Sr. and his wife Joanna Beasley: Honourable Richard Cartwright (son of Richard Sr., buried in Montreal), Magdalen Secord (wife of Hon R. Cartwright), and their children, Mary Magdalen Dobbs (wife of A.T. Dobbs), James, Richard*, Hannah, Thomas, Stephen and twins John Solomon and Robert David.

* Richard Cartwright died 4 May 1811 but is not listed in the burial register and is assumed to have been buried elsewhere.
